Hello ladies,
I'm all set to go out in Melbourne for the very first time this week...can anyone advise me where is best to go, what night, where is safest and friendliest, etc?
If there are any friendly ladies planning to go out this week, could you please let me know if it'd be OK to join you?
My heart is in my mouth, but I've got a nice outfit all picked out!

Bless you all,
Clare Smile

Melbourne Members would be able to advise on locations - and I guess it also depends on what you want to do to.

I would just say that when out as a girl you have to act as a girl - park in a brightly lit place, keep to areas that there are people around, better if you are with someone than on your own, lock doors when driving, etc.

I hope you have a safe and fun time.

Hi Clare,

I do hope you have fun on your first outing...

A few of us usually go along...on different Saturday evenings to:

DTs on the corner of Church Street, Richmond. It's a gay bar. No cover charge. They have a great drag show there. Introduce your self to the proprietor Bruce. He will make you welcome...very welcome and you will enjoy yourself. Parking is in the brightly lit streets arond the bar. Usually a few Tgirls are in attendance. Closes at 1 pm.

Go to Pink. They have a drag show as well. its a gay venue as well. Amanda Monrow runs the show there. Introduce yourself as well...feel at home. Its in the Newmarket Hotel...side soor. Cover charge $12. Closes at 1 pm.

Go to the Greyhound Hotel in Brighton Road St Kilda...side entrance...a great drag show. Its gay as well. Open till 3 pm. Plenty of tgirls there as well and watch out for the tranny chasers. However...some people like that !!! But hang around at the street end of the bar just inside the door...that's where all the tgirls meet up usually.

I don't think I'll go out this Sat night as it will be tooooo hot. I just hate frocking up when the perspiration takes over everything.

Plenty of Seahorse members go along to these places...meet a few Seahorse members and join up for there monthly and other get togethers on a regular basis....then you'll really start to have fun...meet some girls in your own position and then the world og CD'ing will open up for you !!!

The Exchange in Commercial Road is a great air conditioned palce. Gay as well with a drag show. Cover charge $10?

I'm on the committee of Seahorse....

Cheers

Thank you bambi and Colleen,
Well, I sent an email to Pink to get a few details, and a lovely lady called Amanda replied with a very sweet note to assure me that I would be wecomed and looked after there on Saturday night. She even took the trouble to give me directions to the Ladies in case I got lost.
Sooooo...I'm going!!
I may need some help, though. Amanda suggested that I arrive early to be able to park close, round about 8 pm. Trouble is, it's still broad daylight and I can't risk walzing out of the house in full view of the next door neighbours.
Are there any other ladies likely to be going to Pink (or elsewhere) who would be kind enough to allow me to come and dress and leave from her place to avoid my embarrassment?
I'm 30-looking 60 years old, a gentle soul determined to get out this week as my loving family is on holiday with Grandad and this may be the only time for a while that I have the opportunity to go out.
I'm good company with a fine sense of humour, able to travel anywhere.
I'm not going to be very well dressed, and my only wig is a weird colour, and I don't have shoes yey (size 16!) But what the heck, you only live once!
Please let me know if you can help
Clare Smile

Well, it's now Sunday morning, and guess what?
Yesterday Grandad called and begged me to go and help protect his house from the floodwaters due to the big storme that were forecast...I couldn't say no, so I didn't live my dream of going out...again!
But here is a deep loving thankyou to the sweet girls who offered encouagement and advice to help make it happen...I'm going to start a new thread about how many of us have actually been brave enough to get dolled up and face the world...could be interesting, and might help those of us who haven't made it yet to feel a bit better about ourselves???

Bless you all,
Clare still in the wardrobe/closet Smile Smile
