I was wondering if anybody knew of some aussie online wig shops. I intend to buy my wig in person at another store but would like to browse for prices and styles.

Also, storage: is it ok to store a wig flat inside a shoebox sized or slighty bigger box (with shoulder length wig style) ? When a wig is bought, is the original storing box good enough to keep it in permanently?

thanks

Hi Danii

I bought mine from www.celebritywigs.com.au They seem to have a large
selection and very good prices. I bought one called Brooke for $178.00. You
can get better quality if you are prepared to pay more. Mine has served me well and I like the quality vs price. Comes via express post within a couple of days of ordering. It didn't come in a box, only a bag. I have to keep mine in the original bag (for obvious reasons) and have noticed that it is starting to look a bit "ratty". A wig stand is best, otherwise make sure it is not "scrunched up".

Wigs,

I have bought a couple from international wigs at newtown and my red one cost 240 dollars in a bag but a wig stand is only 15 dollars. and is really good valve if you think about it as 5 or 10 years out of a wig is ok for the once a month dresser,,, i have just got one wig via ebay .com in usa long wig for 100 dollars to my door no problems. so if you only want to spend about 100 dollars there are a few shops that are good on the net from ebay.com

anyway i hope this helps

Hi Danii
I bought some wigs from the US on the web. I used WWW.Glamourboutique.com who often have specials
They currently offering 2 wigs for $us 85-95 which I got. While I wouldn't say they are the best quality they are quite goon and should last for quite a while as we don't wear them all the time.
Delivery was quite good as it came through the mail and took about 3 weeks

Hi Danii

I have bought wigs from DejaVu Boutique in Melbourne. As they cater for trannies you can try them on and find what that suits you best. They are reasonably priced also.

Take care.

I recently brought a wig from WWW.wigsinternational.com.au that are situated in Newtown - all details on the website. This is not an online shop but caters for CD's - even gives you phone contacts (Ingrid & Jodie).
I went enfemme and picked up wig in male mode. They are great and cost is very reasonable.
Would recommend, as you see what your purchasing and they try to help you with the appropriate style and colour.

Cheers,

Wendy

Over here in the West, there is a young TV called Amanda who does a very good line in wigs and shoes. Her web address is www.playwithhair.com.au.

She is in South Perth, Como area.

Has anyone, who wears synthetic wigs, found that the hair fibres change if you wear the wig outside for periods on hot days??

I have worn the same wig out on a number of hots days this summer and now when I brush it feels like there is hair lacqer through it. It doesn't move as freely.

Initially I thought I hadn't rinsed it thoroughly enough after washing but now I'm not sure if the actual fibres have changed nature slightly.

Anyone else have the same problem?

If your wig because too stiff and unmanageable may i suggest an item you should be able to pick up in any reputable wig shop. It is a detangler liquid in a spray bottle. Sprayed on the wig before use it frees up the hairs, makes it easier to brush and leaves it smelling a little like vanilla escence. It does add a shine to the wig which helps its appearance.

For those looking for a reasonably priced wigs try EBAY.....they have some good bargains......

Personally when I still wore a wig though my preference is WIGS International in Newtown Sydney. After so many years buying and trying wigs they have the best quality at a good price.

Wigs on line have a good selection of wigs at very reasonable prices. They are crossdresser friendly. However they prefer to sell online. If you are in Melbourne and want a personal fitting, I am one of their agents. and they would actually prefer you to come to me, as I have more expertice in transformations. www.crossdresser.com.au

Another vote for "Wings Online" either direct via their site at www.wigsonline.com.au or on eBay.com.au . Very Happy
