I agree with that, however, dressing like he did is the perfect way to help our acceptance. I think the hardest part to unsderstand about cross dressing (deliberate singling out because I think TS is different in this respect) is the need to 'impersonate' women, to be seen as a woman, not as a bloke in a dress. I'm not trying to buy into an argument about whether that is wrong or not, just saying that that aspect of cross dressing is the hardest to understand and to accept. It's often said that women cross dress all the time and it's accepted - well, they aren't out there trying to be seen as men, they're just being practical or comfortable. Whereas we push this 'impersonation' line. But is that really the core? Sure, it's nice do the full femme bit, even nicer to be seen as a woman, but most of the time, is that the ooint or are we just trying to make sure we aren't read?
Lets assume for a moment that society is okay with us being dressed like this lawyer. Full ladies stuff (though it doesn't look like he's wearing falsies but I'll allow them because bumps is good) but with no attempt to hide the fact that he's a bloke in a dress. Would we still be so obsessed with passing as a woman? Some would be. Some of us now may think we would be but I suspect that in the above situation, this would fade. Many of us would come out of the closet and our dressing patterns would change. And the fetishists amoing us would still keep Victoria's Secret in profits  |
