Hey all,
I am still rather shy about going out in public and buying things from shops, so I was wondering if anyone could recommend any good online shops where you can buy wigs, cosmetics, breast forms etc ? (Australian or Overseas based)
Thanks!

Jen,
For Breast forms I believe that The Breastform Store in USA/Canada has the cheapest prices and a good variety. I have had no problems with them from quality or delivery perspective. Link is attached.

Wigs - the main Australian Website is Celebrity Wigs. Again have had not problems with them although variety is limited to their own brand. Link is attached.

Hope this helps,
Wendy

Thanks that does help a lot!
Now my next question would be what advice can you give on breast forms?
I have had zero experience with them so I have no idea what ones are good and what ones arn't, how to choose proper ones etc
Thanks!

Jen,
I think the "super perky" ones (US$149) are the best. Easier to find appropriate Bra's for them whilst Teardrop forms require very full cup bra's. However, be aware that Nipples can show through slighly when wearing light bra's & tops. I think they are value for money.
Generally, for you first pair would go no greater than C cup but it is your individual choice.
You can also purchase adhesives for the breast forms to go Braless - I can attest that they work.
They also have padded panties that add shape - they are lightweight and can be worn summer & winter without difficulty.
Hope that helps. Only my ideas and what works for me.
Cheers,
Wendy

Thanks again!
I'll look into getting the ones you recommended and I'll let you know how it goes

Hi Jenny, check out ebay as well. I have bought quite a few things through them and have only had the occasional dud. Especially good for us girls who live in the boonies. They do have wigs and breast forms as well, often for much lower prices than the online stores. Worth a look anyway.

Hi Jen,
I took my measurements and emailed the breastform store for advice for the best choice for my shape and desired size. They were very helpful and recommended the teardrop ones (if you have any breast development they are worth condidering) . And they do need a pretty full bra but I absoloutely love them.
The service was good too.

Thanks Gwen
I emailed them this afternoon with all my details so hopefully they will get back to me soon!
One question I do have is how long did it take for you to get them once you ordered them?

Hi - I ahve purchased a number of breast forms from the low cost to very expensive. And I have ot say the best ones I have purchased are the ones I have now - clear triangle ones suitabel fro swimming. The first pair were teh simple breast enhancers, the next being Amoeba (which didn't last very long) as simply the gel inside moved and pulled away from the outer casing. The "swimming" ones i purchased from a shop here in Brisbane. I have used construction adhesive on these glueing these to my skin - more on this later. And then removed them with no sign of degredation. Fantastic.
I will post details of how glueing works in another reply.
Regards

Hi Jen,
There was a small delay because they were out of stock, but they still arrived pretty quickly. I can't quite recall the exact waiting time. It's worth using the adhesive tape that you have to order separately. You don't need the tape if you have a good bra but going braless for the first time felt fabulous.

Thanks for all the advice girls! I had a lengthy discussion with the people at The Breastform Store and I ended up ordering the Gold Seal Premium Forms with a bra and some other bits and pieces. (A little expensive I know, but I've been saving up for this for quite a while and was assured that if they ended up not suiting me, I can send them back and swap them over for what ever I like)
So now the anxious wait begins, I can't wait for them to arrive! |
