STEPPIN OUT IS BACK FOR 2008!!!
A 2008 event at 2007 prices!
There have been some big changes since I last crapped on: as the convenors of Steppin Out we decided after last years event to incorporate and now we are a not-for-profit social club in our own right (see the attached poster). This will mean payments etc will be much easier and discreet than they were and the event is backed by a legal entity.
We also will have support from the lovely gals at The Carrousel Club of SA and we welcome them with open arms in the spirit of glasnost.
If you were at last years Steppin Out- or missed out and been kicking yourself ever since- reserve your ticket ASAP! This event will be bigger than the biggest thing you can think of..which was of course last years event. The lovely Gloria Williams will be back to entertain us with some other special guests;there will be excellent food; there will be prizes; and drinking; and dancing; and more drinking; old and new friends to see; and promotions; and maybe some more drinking; and oh yeah that same old boring MC from last year but hey you can't have everything.
This year we will be at the lovely Freedom Adelaide Meridien Hotel where they have arranged some very reasonable accomodation packages for us with the bonus being you will only have to promenade down to the function room as opposed to fending off the advances of over zealous taxi drivers.
More details will be available soon but mark this one off on your calendar without delay.

If anyone is planning to attend Steppin Out from interstate
AND you have a friend to go with
then Jetstar is currently (30th April) offering tickets at $4 for the second ticket.
This makes the airfare effectively half price.
Be quick or wait for the matching Virgin offer!! |

The Seahorse Social Club Inc of South Australia is extremely proud to announce the appointment of our club's joint Patrons Ms Amanda Barnes, owner and creator of the influential Trannyradio website; and Dr Rosie Jones, well know Adelaide gynaecologist and prominent member of the South Australia Gender Dysphoria Unit.
Ever felt like steppin' out but the thought of a mixed venue is a bit intimidating? Ever wished that we could have our own cd and trans-friendly event where you could strut your stuff and not worry about meeting Mrs Smith from No.33? Have you ever wondered why when you played hooky from school as a kid and got caught they suspended you so you'd miss even more school?
Yes, it's that time again to book your seats for Steppin Out '08 which will be held on October 18th at the fabulous Freedom Adelaide Meridien Hotel from 6.30pm til late packed with socializing, fun, games, drinking, dancing, LIVE ENTERTAINMENT from the gorgeous Gloria Williams with interstate artistes Anita Beer, Philma Box, and GuyDJ direct from cosmopolitan Melbourne, a 3-course meal, laughs and most importantly SAFETY for those of you considering your first journey out in the real world. Last years Steppin Out featured a terrific contingent of 'newbies' and we look forward to meeting new friends and familiar faces on the night.
All tickets need to be pre-booked by either deposit or in full (there will be none at the door on the night)and for our interstate friends (and we know there will be a posse of them) we will be able to advise on trans-friendly accommodation whilst you are here. There are limited seats available so book now to avoid disappointment and join in THE transgendered event of the year!

Don't forget to get your tickets for the Steppin' Out Ball in Adelaide.
Already quite a few girls are flying in from interstate - let's make it a crowd!

Naomi has suggested the following 'diary' for those going to Adelaide to make it a weekend to remember!
Hi everyone,
Raelene and myself were just discussing with Penelope (fellowess member of this very group) about the social calender leading up to and for after Steppin Out.
Here's what we've come up with:
Thursday Night....we live in the deep northern suburbs of Adelaide (Elizabeth North to be exact for those ex-Adelaide-ites) and are willing to open our door and invite everyone who's in town early, (and those who live in Adelaide) to a BBQ. Now if you've never been to a Chez Raelene BBQ, let me tell you, she's a damn fine chef on the barby, and that you'll enjoy yourself to the max.
Friday Night....There's a great Chinese restaurant that we've attended a few times in Prospect (just north of the city for those visiting) called The Shanghai Palace. It has rear parking (handy for people such as Emma *winks*) and you can enter the restaurant via the kitchen! Prices aren't too bad. Here's a link for a review about the restaurant.

Obviously, due to it being a Friday night, we would need to book in advance, so if you think it's something you'd like to do to start the weekend off, please let us know (PHONE NO HIDDEN FOR PUBLIC POSTING - post expressions of interest on this thread) so we can ring and book a table.
Saturday afternoon....The Cocktail Bar (aptly named perhaps!) is open for pre-dinner drinks from 5pm and I suggest anyone wishing to meet anyone before hand meet in there.
Saturday evening....THE MAIN EVENT
Saturday after parties....these will more than likely be held in whichever rooms people allow them to happen in. Alternately, I'm sure we will hear from Cliffy as to any other 'places to go' for those who wish to officially party hard into the wee small hours.
Sunday....we can either have drinks and nibbles out here at our place, or maybe for those interested, you may wish to organise yourselves a trip up to the Barossa Valley.
I'm thinking that's all the before and after covered, if not, let me know what's on your agenda, and we'll (Host city gals) try and accomodate with chaperonesses!]
