As most of you will be aware we had a bit of down-time this month because the website was hit by a hacker who changed the forums to redirect to another web site. There is no evidence that the hacker obtained access to the database nor to any of the usernames/passwords stored there. The aim of the hacker was to direct traffic to the suspect website.
Over the last few weeks I have upgraded the forum software substantially to close off potential vulnerabilities - and also took the opportunity to try and fix some of the long running "bugs" that members have kindly been putting up with for some time.
Today I think I fixed the last known problem associated with the "brain transplant" - and unless you tell me otherwise I think we are out in the clear again.
On the downside we lost about a month's postings in a few of the forums - on the plus side the "Recent Postings" search in the forum should now work as intended - and you should be auto-logged in reliably if you select that option on the login page.
